TELMEX PREPAYS 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS

Mexico City, August 17, 2009. Teléfonos de México, S.A.B. de C.V. (TELMEX) (BMV: TELMEX; NYSE: TMX; NASDAQ: TFONY; LATIBEX: XTMXL) announced today the prepayment of the tranche A of the syndicated loan in the amount of 1.3 billion dollars, entered into on August 11, 2006, which original maturity was scheduled for October 20, 2009.
